Application deadline for the Teaching Integrity in Empirical Research (TIER) Workshop is Friday, September 6, 2013.
The workshop will be held on October 18 - 19, 2013, at Haverford
College, near Philadelphia, PA and led by Richard
Ball, Associate Professor of Economics and Norm
Medeiros, Associate Librarian, both of Haverford College.
The workshop is aimed at instructors of
statistical methods course in any of the social sciences. Attendees will learn
how to assemble documentation for a variety of projects, starting with a very
simple case and then addressing a variety of challenges that commonly arise. Broader conceptual
and pedagogical issues related to documentation and replicability of
empirical research will be discussed. Tools to assist in data management will
be demonstrated.
Medeiros
and Ball developed this technique and have written and given presentations on
it, including a webinar on it and this Workshop.
